Anika played many competitive sports before finding her passion in volleyball, playing as a middle hitter for a team in Northern Germany during a high school year and being captain of the volleyball team during her years in Junior College.

Anika graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Therapy in 2011. In the summer of 2017, she hiked the West Coast trail with her Father, which was an experience of a lifetime.
